pink_chalk Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I bet the lab thought the whole thing was good times. He got to go on a long hike, snuggle with his owners, and probably got a whole bacon cheeseburger when they got down to Timberline. This dog did not think it was good time. Kev, are you implying before or after the fall, maybe both? When I heard there was a dog on Hood, I knew it had to be Velvet girl. She is an amazing dog... a true warrior. I know the owner as well and hold high respect for him. I guess miss Velvet was returing the favor from her days in the Black Velvet Canyon... I also remember when they brought her back how involved she became with kids at the school. Great story. Glad everyone is safe. *hugs* sickie Quote
G-spotter Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Yeah, dogs love to get lost and epic and shit. That's why they never win the Golden Piton. Quote
Clavote Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 How long of an iceaxe is appropriate for a dog? Long enough to skewer the dog and still hold the axe over a fire and not get your hands burnt. It's breed dependent. Quote

Dechristo Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 How long of an iceaxe is appropriate for a dog? I don't think length is the question, but rather adze or hammer. I'd say adze because, although the hammer will dispatch Velvet adequately, the adze will continue to be handy past this task for butchering. Bow-wow brisket? Lab loin? Ayone? Quote
archenemy Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I say you need to axe the dog himself. Quote
