nickc0102 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I was wondering if anyone has any information on the route conditions on Mt Rainier, in particular gib ledges or gib chute. Quote
Alpinfox Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 From the Mount Rainier Website: The park remains closed due to damage from flooding in early November 2006. The closure is in effect until further notice. SRs 410 & 123, Carbon River Road and the Paul Peak/Mowich Lake area are open to non-motorized use. Quote
Jens Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 If you are an ice climber and had superpowers that let you fly, I bet "Mickey's gully" and "Hey mikey he likes it" are both HUGE route now. I skiied Crystal yesterday and Saturday and couldn't help but wish I was on the summit of Rainier as I looked over at it while sipping my glass of wine from the comfort of the lodge on top of REX. Fairweather Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 We were up there too. I don't think I've ever seen the Emmons Glacier looking so smooooth. Quote
Buckaroo Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 ""the Paul Peak/Mowich Lake area are open to non-motorized use"" Does anyone know how far up you can drive on this road? In the past you were usually able to get to the Paul Peak trailhead. Quote
Ed_Hobbick Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Hey. I still have your biner full of stoppers that you lent me to practice my solo aid; I have the 15 biners as well. They have worked well and have helped me to work into aid climbing. Thanks Buckeroo! Quote
lankfactor Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Great view of the smooth Emmons-Winthrop action you speak of... from the top of High Campbell. Quote
i_like_sun Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 High Cambell does give some of the best veiws of the mountain. The Emmons looks heeaalthy! Quote
