Cool, I am just finishing up a book called the Everest Boys about Bonington and all the fellows that he climbed with through the years. It is a good read.

I'm not saying that I'm anything like Houlding but what he said about just having a good day out climbing with Bonners, I think will ring true for any of us PNW types who climb with Fred. Except that you probably don't have to yell so loud if you climb with Sir CB

I think Bonington is too modest, I seem to recall a picture of him on Freeway in the last edition of Mclane's guide to Squamish, well impressed!

I know a few CCer's who I've tried to convince going out with him for a day just for the experience. At least for me, it's strange to see someone refuse this while at the same time others are just aching to get a chance. Fred is an inspiration not just for climbers, but for elderly outdoor enthusiasts around the world. He's 84 on the 14th by the way....Where's the party???

But its cool how Bonington uses "adventure" as an adjective in refering to Houlding as a "good adventurer."
