beaconben
I am sure its too warm but wondering if anyone's checking it out.
Farrgo
I talked to my buddy who lives in North Bonneville and it sounds like its no where close. If you look at the trip reports from years past it looks like you need a week of temperatures in the teens to set it up. We are hovering right around freezing. Winter
Talked to a non-climber that drove through the Gorge this morning and said there was no noticeable ice.
marcus
Hiked the Gorge this afternoon...things are coming along - though maybe not fast enough for this brief snap. Overall, higher water volumes on the bigger climbs are pushing ice off as fast as its growing. Look instead for mixed, corner climbs and seeps. Â I stood at the base of... Â Crown Point: No(slushy, 30degrees) Â Black Dagger: No(but proud!) Â Ainsworth Left: No(higher volume right now) Â Did not look at Starvation Creek or Salmon Run area...if anyone else has time to take a peek, I'd love to hear a progress report. barkernews
Dude, the ice looked sick today! By the way, is there a climber named Corey out there? One of the TV crews at my employer interviewed him today when he got a ticket. Sounded like he was headed up for some climbing today! I'm jealous. I had to work in it... ryland_moore
I doubt anything solid is in. The only reason it looked cool out there was because of the frozen rain last night. Temps are above freezing now and will be all tonight and tomorrow. It may get barely below freezing Friday night but then not again for a while. Like said earlier, maybe good mixed climbing, but nothing to hold a screw for sure....

beaconben
why did this guy corey get a ticket. was it for driving on 84 while closed or was it for climbing. i was bouldering in the oneonta parking lot a few summers back and a park person told me climbing is illegal in the gorge. Â did anyone climb in the gorge this last freeze. i drove through sunday. it looked too thin for me.
layton
don't park illegally for crown point, the gate is now perma-locked. do some extra walking instead of closing access for the hordes.
