olyclimber Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I'm going up to Leavenworth with my son, and I know at least one other person who will be coming up with his lil' goat. So if you have a kid and want to come, then by all means join us. I'm not sure we'll reserve a group camp unless there is tons of interest, but we can work out the details. Last year we did it and the kids had a ton of fun running around, and the adults figured out a way to make a weekend of it too. There is tons of good, easy climbing for the kids...we just set up a bunch of top ropes and let them have fun. So come on up if you and your spawn are interested. Post here or PM me if you'll be coming up. Quote
Billygoat Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I'll be coming with at least one "kid", 10 y/o boy. Definitely had fun the last couple times. Goat Quote
olyclimber Posted August 12, 2006 Author Posted August 12, 2006 One more adult w/two kids are in. Quote
Billygoat Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Got another Dad and his 10 y/o girl. Porter, is that Bug with O and Meredith or a different parent? Quote
Billygoat Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 So 5 parents and seven kids....that's a quorum Quote
scottk Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I've got 2 girls (12 and 14) that have been rock scrambling and some gym climbing and have a high level of interest. What age range are the kids and how many girls? (These things seem to be important at these ages). Quote
Billygoat Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I'm bringing a 10 y/o boy and a 10 y/o girl. Bug has two girls 9 and 7 (?). Oly has a 5 y/o (?). And I don't know who the other peeps with the two kids are or what ages. Hilweasel, if he catches this, has a 17 y/o girl that has come before. I can bring a 16 y/o boy as well. Pretty much any age kids are welcome. Oly brought Alpinfox last year My son was kinda psyched to watch him ride his BMX bike and SK8 board Who else is in Quote
olyclimber Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 No group campsites were available for this weekend (the 15-17th of Sept). Chatter Creek, Bridge Creek, Eight Mile, and Tumwater groups sites are booked up. I have a few ideas, but does anyone else have a suggestion for where we can camp so the kiddies can run amok? Quote
Billygoat Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Arrrrghhhh! Maybe Dave Bale will know, or Viktor..... How about that big parking lot mid-way up on the right, or can we just set up camp further up on Icicle creek road, or tumwater canyon somewhere, or along the river....... Any 11-worth poachers out there with beta? Quote
olyclimber Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 we could go to the tumwater poach site...but no campfires then! you know how kids love fire. Quote
fheimerd Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I've got a 9 year old daughter that hasn't really got into climbing, she basically thinks that I, her dad, am a lunatic. I think being around some other kids might help her see the fun there is to be had. Would this be a thing for that? Quote
olyclimber Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 yep. my son can climb 2 grades higher when there are other kids around. we still have to figure out what we're going to do for camping though... Quote
Skeezix Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I'm planning to come with two boys ages 6 and 8. Quote
Billygoat Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Is it possible to reserve a bunch of single campsites at the same campground and then load them up a bit? Quote
high_on_rock Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I have a boy 6 and a girl 8; but cannot confirm my availability yet. If space is tight count me out, if you have a large open space I might try to beg my way in at the end. Do you guys allow Spokane folk? Eric Quote
Billygoat Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I just reserved the group site at CCCCCHHHHAAAAATTTTEEEERRRR Creek. We have it from Friday the 15th at 3 pm till Sunday the 17th at 2 pm. The site will hold 45 people, so no space problems I can see. 00ooo Quote

scottk Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be able to make it. I forgot about some houseguests that we have coming. I'll let you know if things change. Sounds like fun... Maybe next time... Quote
kenp Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I have an 8 yo boy that thinks he's all that. If I can get him off the skateboard long enough, I'd love to meet you all there and have some fun 2 adults, 1 rock monkey Quote
rob Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I wish I could make it with my 6 & 3 yr old, but I've been informed that I will instead be driving to Idaho that weekend to visit with my wife's god mother. W00t! Quote
