111 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 does the face in the photo have any routes on it? Some of those columns near the top look like they'd break off if you sneezed near them. Quote
AFIVE Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 It sure looks like the "Dreamlands" between Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens. Chris Hill, or Jim Opdyke would know for sure. It has been wet on the Deschuttes crags for weeks now. I have gotten wet the last two weekends over there. Quote

markd Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Not sure. I'm watching the weather. Did you do that route yet in the center of the crag? Â no, that one unfortunately ends at a nest, so we've stayed away from it. we've done all the one's around it on that wall though. i'd love to give you a tour sometime. it won't be "season" until march though. shapp Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 is this Opal Wall? Â http://www.nthward.com/photo_galleries/oregon/DSCF0111.JPG Quote
corvallisclimb Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 wayne, i belive this is the opal creek wall? Â Â am i correct? Quote
markd Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 tyler- it doesn't look like it to me, but i've never seen it from that angle. i remember it being a lighter color and having water streaks. Â where were you standing when you took this shot? that will be a big help in knowing if this is it or not.(i assume you took it the pic because you posted it). Quote
corvallisclimb Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 mark- that shot is from above on henline mtn. i veiwed it from below and it does look like how you described. you can see the road to jawbone flats in the shot. that is located right next to stack creek so i assume this is the opal creek wall in tim olsons book. AFIVE Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 that looks like a different angle of the same formation that Shapp posted above. http://www.nthward.com/photo_galleries/oregon/DSCF0111.JPG Quote
