scott_davidson Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 If anybody wants to hook up to do some backcountry skiing this winter, even places that are way back there (I just got a snowmobile) or climbing, give me a call or email. Preferably looking for experienced skiers or boarders with gear to skin up once we get in there. my sled should be able to carry two and pull a third person, and we may be getting another sled. I would also be totally psyched to climb some ice or alpine routes. Ive got a fair amount of alpine experience and all the gear. If interested give me a call at 509 304 7014 or email at scott1208@yahoo.com. I live in Cle Elum and just moved back up here so dont have any partners yet, but am really hoping to ski a ton this winter if we get some good snow. Thanks, Scott Quote
RocNoggin Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 WOOHOO! my new best friend! :-) Â do you have any long access trips that require the use of the sled planned? Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 You could zip right up the Cle Elum River road and ski Daniel and a bunch of other shit! Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 You can snowmobile all the way to Longs Pass, too. There's something I'd like to do. Quote
scott_davidson Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 do you guys know if it is legal to access the north cascades highway from mazama in the winter on a sled? Quote
jhamaker Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Hello again. N Cascades Hwy is popular w/ sleds even though is has more avy chutes per mile than anything else. Just watch conditions and have fun! Quote
RocNoggin Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 any snow in Cle Elum yet? how about up the Teanaway? Quote
scott_davidson Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 no, there is nothing yet, not more than a couple inches up the middle fork teanaway where we are working. i havent been up the north fork and maybe it higher, i dont know. they were saying we would get snow this weekend but so far its just been freezing fog that doesnt do much more that make the ground white.
