JoshK Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 So hurricane Wilma is now a category 5, with the lowest barometric pressure of any hurricane ever recorded. I wonder how bad this one will be when it hits? I wonder if the Floridians will be smart enough to learn from the people who tried to "ride out" previous hurricanes, such as Katrina. I wonder if this finally open people's eyes up to the fact that global warming is a real issue? Quote

Dave_Schuldt Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Evacuating is also a nightmare. My parents in FT Lauderdale will ride it out. Quote

barkernews Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Dude, If this hurricane season has taught me anything (besides the fact that eating MREs and living without a shower for two weeks in New Orleans sucks) it's that I will never, EVER live south of the Mason Dixon Line. Wouldn't you re-think living in Houston or New Orleans or Biloxi or Mobile or Tampa after a year like this? And it's only going to get worse... Quote
ChrisT Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Just to the north of Cozumel is a tiny island called Isla Mujeres which I visited in 1985 - nice place! Quote
