Dave_Schuldt Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Anyone hear of any? I know they're worthles but it's fun to see what they have to say. Quote
Doug Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I hear winter going to last from sometime in December to approximately March. Or not. Quote
iain Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I predict flurries of GMC Yukons in the Mt. Hood Meadows area. Intermittent sprinkles of Escalades in the median and ditches. Outback advisory in effect. Quote
Geek_the_Greek Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I predict  ...an early start to winter ...an annoying thaw in late January ...some good dumping in March, extending the season well into the spring ...an abrupt warming in early May ...a hot and dry summer with lots of fires  No reason for all this, just kind of a gut feeling. Tony_Bentley Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 1999- 47 days of avalanche warnings 2000- 23 days of avalanche warnings 2001- 17 days of avalanche warnings 2002- 21 days of avalanche warnings 2003- 11 days of avalanche warnings 2004- 22 days of avalanche warnings 2005- 5 days of avalanche warnings  2006:  Based on the trend, we are either due for an above normal year or global warming is changing the trend to a lower annual snowpack. As a result, the trend is on a downhill slope.  I predict an above normal season for snowpack and avalanche warnings. I also predict a higher number of ski-mountaineering acheivements in Washington than the last two seasons. Quote

shall we all place a wager on when the first resort (around here...including baker, whistler, and hood) opens??  I say...Whistler will open first...and a week before Thanksgiving!!  anyone...anyone? Quote

Jake Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 National Weather Service says it will be warmer in the PNW. Â http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2005/s2520.htm Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Looks like another winter of mountain biking. Quote
billcoe Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 The climatologist from OSU is predicting warmer and wetter than normal. Â Unfortuneatly, that doesnt' really tell us how many skiing days we will be getting. Â The sure way I have found which I can personally help to ensure lack of snow is to buy the season pass. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 Some dude on the radio said to expect the Pineaple Express to hapen more than normal. Quote
Ponzini Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I predict that monoboarding will make a comeback, but that the new monoboards will be shaped, so even gapers can monoboard with style Quote
