Dan,

I was up there on thursday. It would be a good ski right now. Skiable snow starts near the end of the logging road. There were no open crevasses on the route last week.

Thanks Jason. Good to hear you are back in town. Will you be guiding Baker? I will be spending time there this summer as a volunteer Mt Steward. Maybe our paths will cross.

On thursday there was still quite a bit of snow. There was no rock showing in the main gully at all. Though it has been warm and while we were there there was quite a bit of snow sloughing off.

One party ahead of us elected not to climb the summit pyramid because of the amount of slough coming down.

We climbed the S.E. ridge of the summit pryamid on saturday. Just a few spots of snow left that you couldn't avoid on the rock, but it was melting fast. I thought it was a much better finish to the climb then the normal route.

Skied from the very summit on Sunday 6/9 via the central ascent gully. Ton of snow still up there! We were able to ski all the way down to the logging road and around the corner a bit.

By now, it's probably about a 45 minute walk from your car to skinable snow. Took us a leaisurly 11 hours car to car due to having to wait for about 20 pokey folks in the gully. Then we had the top to ourselves. [big Grin]

Anyone need a partner for next Mon., Tues., or Wed.? This is a route that I've been pondering for awhile! I've got a split board, and can't wait to ride down. Experienced on snow. E-mail me

Has anyone been on the Sulphide Glacier on Shuksan recently? I am curious how the conditions are for skiing. How far would one have to portage the skis before being able to start skinning.

Thanks.
