Jens Posted April 30, 2001 Share Posted April 30, 2001 Haven't been ski mountaineering on Adams lately but was up touring near the Sahale Arm last Sunday. Quite a bit of new snow was on the ground and it was snowing lightly off and on during different times of the day. The turns were fun and more winterlike up high. tobytortorelli Posted April 30, 2001 Share Posted April 30, 2001 on access: the last road report from gifford-pinchot was the south side road was open to big tree. this is from mid april. big tree is quite a ways down the road from any skiing. i'd guess and say a six mile approach on road to cold springs camp. wydrav13 Posted May 2, 2001 Share Posted May 2, 2001 i was up by adams about 2 weeks ago..the road was crap...had to do some 4*4. i started touring on the road but got mad cause one min. your on snow the next your walkin on dirt...i didnt feel like touring on the snow machine trail for 6 miles just to get to the trail head. so good luck man.
