faster_than_you Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 A few years ago I was living in Capitol Hill/First Hill area. Several squirrels ... Wow. That story ended waaaaaaaay different than I thought it was going to. Phew. The squirrels in "The Claw" are all scared these days... Quote
archenemy Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Spoken like a true man! Here it is from the one woman's perspective: Don't discount the possibility that the females are smart enough to orchestrate a MMF threesome (whether they are birds, bugs, or bitches). Don't worry about being suave enough to seduce two women at once--we can organize this little MFF fun-circus just as well. Sit back and relax there, Dr. Ruth-less Quote
Duchess Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Here's one from the wildlife biology perspective: The main biological goal of a female species is to get impregnated. The main biological goal of a male is to spread his genes prolifically. So, I would think that MFF would be far more common than MMF. ???? Similar to the stereotypes of women wanting to settle down in relationships, while men are more promiscous. Quote
archenemy Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Then why is it that as women are given control over their own reproductive choices, they have fewer children? And when social pressures stop forcing a woman to be identified as a creature there to procreate, women often chose to have no children at all. And when they get economic control over thier own lives, they often chose to not marry at all. Perhaps we are more than the sum of our parts? Quote

Similar to the stereotypes of women wanting to settle down in relationships, while men are more promiscous. That's not quite right. The goal of the female is not just to get impregnated, but rather to raise offspring to the point where it can reproduce. She does this by providing for the young as best she can. It may require two males, in fact, if conditions are difficult, and this actually is the case in parts of Nepal. The male also wants to have lots of offspring old enough to reproduce and he does have incentive to provide for the young, but promiscuity is another way of accomplishing the same thing with less effort. archenemy Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 At what point do you think these wants became developed? Certainly, men did not link their two minute liaisons with random women to the child that came out of her 9 months later. For that matter, women couldn't have understood that link anymore than they could have understood why they bleed monthly. I think the wants that you refer to must have evolved long after the simple desire for sex was recognized. Quote
ChrisT Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 This thread reminds me of the Woody Allen film "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask". There's a segment where Woody's involved with a woman who only gets turned on in public. Pretty funny - vintage Woody Allen. Quote
Dechristo Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 The main biological goal of a female species is to get impregnated. That's a stiff order in a species of females exclusively. Quote
AlpineK Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Durring the summer aphids are all female, and they're all born pregnant. It's only when the temps get colder and food scarcer that they produce male aphids. There are a lot of insects who's population is almost all female. Quote
