Gaper_Jeffy Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 (edited) Checkout fido's latest hoax on his website, he claims he is going to give Kellog $2000 if he does a sub 5:30 Rainier climb. http://www.mountainspeedclimbing.org Also, fido now has on his website a video of Chad climbing past the summit register on Rainier. The video actually gives support to Kellog's time as it shows him moving very efficiently and fast for the altitude. Certainly down lower he was moving even faster. You can see the video here: http://www.mountainspeedclimbing.org/KelloggVideoEvidenceMarkedSlowPaceDuring2004RanierSpeedClimb And if yous scroll to the bottom of this page you can read fido's so-bogus-it's-funny analysis: http://www.mountainspeedclimbing.org/2004MtRainierDisputeChadKellogg.htm Edited June 10, 2005 by Gaper_Jeffy Quote
Gaper_Jeffy Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Also I just sent this email to Bill Wright, CCing Chad Kellogg, Hey Bill, fido on his website now claims he is now offering Chad Kellog $2000 to do a sub 5:30 speed climbing. That’s a lot of money. Is he really serious? The offer is on his frontpage today: http://www.mountainspeedclimbing.org/ The text also loosely alludes to you supporting this offer. If fido is really serious, could the money be put aside in an escrow account controlled by an independent party so we know the offer is legit and fido will not back down if the time is reached? I’m CCing Chad Kellog on this message. Chad, if you want to accept fido’s probably bogus offer let me know and I’ll do my best to coordinate a showing of fans and support for you all over the mtn that day. If the time is reached and fido backs down on the offer, this will be another final nail in his coffin. Quote
Gaper_Jeffy Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Oh look, everytime you write H o w i t t now it turns it to Fido. Funny. I don't know why I care so much about this stuff, I guess I just feel bad for Kellogg. fido goes around slandering Kellogg and aggressively promoting himself to the media as the record holder when he's not. Should I just ignore this stuff? Quote
b-rock Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Mr Fido is now training for the first pirate speed ascent of Rainier. You can find him almost any eve in Forest Park, eyepatch and all. Argh, matey! Quote
Gaper_Jeffy Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Hey brock, where in Forest Park is Dan training? Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Should I just ignore this stuff? Kellogg probably should ignore it. I'd say it's not worth $2,000 (even if it's real and not just pretend money) to get involved in the Fido circus. Quote
cj001f Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Hey brock, where in Forest Park is Dan training? I think the Wildwood trail. I saw him at the Cornell Rd crossing last summer w/Caddis (if you don't fish, why name it after a bug?) Quote
b-rock Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Hey brock, where in Forest Park is Dan training? Where? Dunno exactly but I've seen him a good half dozen times in the past few months, late afternoon while trail running. Mostly on Leif Ericson if I recall, trusty Fido by his side. I always just flash a big shit-eatin' grin, laugh and carry on. Quote
Thinker Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 One of his alter egos is a world-renowned fly fishing record holder. Quote
Gaper_Jeffy Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Kellogg probably should ignore it. I'd say it's not worth $2,000 (even if it's real and not just pretend money) to get involved in the Fido circus. But if Kellogg does the climb in that time and then Fido doesn't come thru with the funds, then there will be no doubt Fido is not legit and he's a fraud (wait, are there any doubts now?) Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 No, there are no doubts. If Kellogg humors Fido at all he's giving him legitimacy he doesn't deserve. Quote
Thinker Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Looks like Danny boy had to take the video off his website. I wonder if the rightful owners of the tape objected to it's 'controversial' use. Quote

Gaper_Jeffy Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 (edited) The video is still there, he just changed the URL. you can see it at http://www.mountainspeedclimbing.org/Kel...rSpeedClimb It may help to save it to your computer before viewing it. Edited June 11, 2005 by Gaper_Jeffy Quote
knelson Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Missing the ".mpg" there on your link Gaper... Wish I could be that "slow" at 14k! Damn. Quote
sketchfest Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Hey brock, where in Forest Park is Dan training? Yep, saw the dread-pirate fido in the park last night me-self, although I can not verify if there was any peanut butter involved in his speed ascent of the Leif Ericcson trail or not. Quote

Thrashador Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Picking on the short bus kid again, eh? I'm thiniking of a word... Quote

Thinker Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 I thought Danny had moved to Colorado awhile back. Did he miss us all enough that he had to move back? Or maybe he's back just long enough for his annual fling with Jen Garner. Quote
