A friend and I are planning on doing a one-day loop hike up from the Colchuck trailhead, over Aasgard pass and down to the Snow lake trailhead. We were hoping to just take one car which we would leave at the Snow lake trailhead and somehow get transportation to the Colchuck trailhead. I was wondering if there was going to be anybody else needing to work out a shuttle situation in the area or if anyone has any suggestions?

Go the other direction and leave a bike at the Stuart Lake trailhead. Bike ride is all downhill back to Snow Creek lot.

You could take your chances with hitchin' too. Shouldn't be a problem on a weekend.

Please post a trip report here on cc.com when you get back! Pictures are especially appreciated! thumbs_up.gif

We did this trip last weekend, great trip! Hitching upvalley is probably a bad idea though as you might come out pretty late. The bike suggestion is the best one. Its a 7 mile ride back to the car, almost all downhill.

There is no snow from Stuart Lake TH to top of Aasgard pass, and again from Lake Vivienne to Snow Creek TH. Lighter boots are the way to go. There is still snow on the plateau, get up there early or its posthole central.

I always wanted to do that loop, just never got around to it. A bike ride back to the car all downhill is definitely the way to go so that it is a complete loop.

The trip was great! As for the ride situation, we pulled into the Village Mercantile/Chevron station late Friday night and talked a guy who works there into picking us up at the Snow Lake trailhead and shuttling us to the Colchuck Lake trailhead. We offered him $30 and he showed up in his white Geo with green flames on the side ready to go. So, if anyone needs a shuttle in the Leavenworth area, he said it's ok to contact him. His name is "Dax" and he works at the Village Mercantile.
