AlpineK Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 If it wasn't for my faith in the lord I think I'd be dead. Quote
JayB Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 My take is that if his trajectory had been slightly different he'd be dead but trajectory/Faith-In-The-Lord/whatever - insane. Next time you're about to do a 50 meter rap think about what it would take to peer over the edge and jump off of something that high with skis on . Puts this video into perspective, I think. Quote
JoshK Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Holy shit! How does he not end up with his knees through his chest? That is insane... Quote
JayB Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 Some dope-ass jib action from the same site.... http://www.freeride.nu/content/571/ Quote
iain Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 At what point is it no longer skiing, just jumping off a cliff? Quote
JayB Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 When you've got skis on...bdump chink. What about the straight-line-to-lincoln-loop-over-the-cliff sequence at the beginning... Last video clip - best of them all for sure. http://videos.skipass.com/ci2005/day-hi.mov Quote
mec Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 When are they going to start base jumping with ski's on? Would this still be considered skiing? Quote
JoshK Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 iain, on that note, i would actually argue that this isn't really skiing so much as a guy jumping off a cliff into some snow. You can tell he basically falls into the ground then starts skiing. There is a noticable delay between him hitting and him moving again. He might as well just jump off then put some skis on and ski off. That is just about as much skiing as this is. He mentions that he has never hurt himself skiing. I am gonna say this is a negative for him...he has never learned so it is only a matter of time before he hurts himself really bad (or kills himself) to a constantly built up sense of invincibility.
