Mountain Goats have an aggressive social structure. The goats often push and shove each other –sometimes falling off cliffs. Adults will sometimes lift smaller goats and toss them, although the victims usually manage to catch themselves....

 

...most deaths occur as a result of rockslides or avalanches. Mountain goats will occasionally fall to their deaths.

And is there an increase in mountain goat death when Mike Layton is climbing in a region.

 

the information mattp posted does not seem to indicate a correlation between mike layton and mountain goat death. however there is no mention of assault rates amoung mountain goats so we might be missing something.

There was an article in the Oregonian about how the forest service is re-introducing mountain goats into the Columbia River gorge.

 

Layton won't have to travel nearly as far.
