wayne Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Arachnophopia is so fat right now you could start it with 3 different variations. Its the one left of centerwith 3 fat legs. Maybe Brown will post a photo? Black Widow is thin but The Davis Ramp is probably perfect. The GCD is very thin at the top and middle. Probably 6-7 lines of water ice are in right now. I will be up there Sunday. See you there? Quote
Chad_A Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 You da man, Wayne. That thing looks spicy. Wish I had the time (and probably a bit more skill ) Quote

MCash Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Wayne, Â Could you post an annotated photo showing the lines and grades in that area? It is hard to come by beta on what line in what over there. Â Thanks. Quote

layton Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 stop packing, it melted out during the last week. it's a sweet hike though (5 grand to the base)! good views of more of the same!!! Â p.s. there is bare rock on the trail almost the whole way up to 9000'!!! Meadows said they probably won't be open by weeks end. can't wait till sept when it's a big pile of turd and mass wastes after the 1st heavy rain. maybe it'll put out the fires while the entirety of oregon, wa, and ca are burning. Â oh, and bring a basket of jo's n' chicken strips to put under the warming lamps atop the cascade express lift building. makes a great tanning bed too. Quote
iain Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I seriously thought he was joking...someone actually went up there??? freezing level was at summit level most of the weekend and all that stuff gets first sun Quote
layton Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 same conditions as last week as far as we were concerned. stuff doesn't usually melt away that fast, and finding ice this year hasn't followed that logical recipe. worth taking the chance. you can't fail unless you try Quote
