b-rock Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 I have two pairs of old DH skis if anyone wants them, free. In Portland. - Atomic (?) 195cm with Look bindings. - Volkl P9 Slalom 198cm with Tryolia 490 bindings (sweet skis, if the year is 1994) Or are there any ski swaps coming up I could donate these to? rbw1966 Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 I'll take them for my project--unless someone wants to actually ski them. You have to promise to keep your 'old red graffix' in its cage though. Quote
b-rock Posted November 5, 2004 Author Posted November 5, 2004 Dude you have a sick and twisted sense of humor that I normally share, but I'm really not following you here. Or did you have an unfortunate incident as a fraternity pledge that involved a three foot bong? Hmmm. If your project consists of some kickass ski tobagon, they're all yours. Quote
rbw1966 Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 I chose a college specifically for its lack of a greek system, hence I know not of what you are referring. However, I can say that I have had several unfortunate incidents that began with the use of a three-foot bong. The 'project' is a chair made out of skis. Ergo, I will be cutting these things up. If someone wants to ski them I will defer to their intended use. If not, I'd be honored to include them. Quote
ChrisT Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 THey're prob too long for me, eh? I'm 5 feet 4 and three quarters (used to be 5'5" but I'm shrinking) Quote
tomtom Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 However, I can say that I have had several unfortunate incidents that began with the use of a three-foot bong. A million-to-one shot, Doc, million-to-one. Quote
snoboy Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Hey Chris, I'm 6-2, and they would be too long for me! Quote
Geek_the_Greek Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Nah, back in the early '90s, all the hotshots skied 210s. I'm 5'9 and skied Head Radial 195's (the hot pink ones, from 1990) for almost 10 years. So if you want to go retro on the skinny boards, 195-198 is perfect size for intermediate/advanced cruising. Quote
snoboy Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 I do not wisj to go retro, I like my new fattie shorty skis... ergo, those would be too long for me. Quote
MPaul_Hansen Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 From Seattle so can't take you up on your kindly offer. However "to sell the product" suggest your free skis be offered as "rock skis", for use early in the Season, when there is insufficient snow cover. PS Already have two pairs of "rock skis", so maybe another could use them for this purpose. Quote
lancegranite Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 God, dosen't anybody burn skis anymore? ... In the day, (old testament, est. 1990) a guy would burn any old, broken skis as a sign of devotion. Hell, In 1989, I burnt a K2 Gyrator at the top of Tye Mill and I never had to buy another snowboard for 12 seasons! Quote
Dr_Crash Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 I was going to say... Those skis should be burnt as an offering to Ullr. Maybe next week in Fremont. I have a pair of 200 slaloms to burn myself. drC Quote
man_vrs_mountain Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 man i live in washington otherwise i would like to try them to actually use them Quote
