To_The_Top
Great pics and TR, did this about the same time last year with some friends. You can see a lot from the summit up there.
Mike
I've done this in May on snowshoes - excellent snow camping. Looks like a great fall trip, too. Thanks for the pictures.
savaiusini
I've done this in May on snowshoes - excellent snow camping. Out of curiousity, at what elevation did you hit decent snowpack in May? Thanks!
Tod
Here's a TR and details on a trip I did in late March of of 2001. I did the same trip again in April of 2002 with similar snow conditions (snow starting at the end of what used to be the road). wolfs
More fishing for beta: would you say those three extra miles of road past washout would be worth bringing a mtn bike for? Or is it too brushy and otherwise messed up?
savaiusini
Yeah, for the most part, you could ride all the way to the trailhead. There were a couple very short spots where you'd have to hop off your bike for a second. Either way, on foot didn't take very long...but on the way out it sure would have been nice to coast all the way back to the car! What really needs to happen is for someone to dedicate a weekend to cutting backsome of the branches and limbs that are over the road. Apparently, the powers that be aren't feeding any trail park pass funds to this road.
