Gary_Yngve Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 In John Long's "Close Calls," there is a hilarious account of some big-wallers who pack some clubs and a few hundred balls into their haul bag, and once they found a suitable ledge, turned the Valley into a driving range. Innocent tourists were getting bombarded, car windows were getting smashed... Fights were breaking out in the parking lot... The rangers were trying to figure out where the balls were coming from but couldn't. Quote

Bring a helmet for that one! Quote
fleblebleb Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 A buddy used to do that in the middle of town when we were teenagers. *Smack* off goes a golf ball across a whole block, over a cliff and onto the asphalt on the neighborhood childrens' school soccer/basketball area. Scary... lucky nobody got killed. Actually, come to think of it I did see somebody catch a golf ball in the head after a drive - the ball didn't bounce or anything like that, just hit the guy full on and knocked him out. Don't think there was any serious damage - just a golf ball-sized bump on his head Quote
Geek_the_Greek Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 Ah the memories... Isn't that right below "two over par"? Quote
fleblebleb Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 I usually try to suppress any memories of golf that may pop up Quote
