dkemp
Went to Exit 38 yesterday, had a lot of fun actually. I led a 5.7 and upon lowering to the ground Stim Bullitt walked over and asked me how I liked the climb. I told him it was okay as a warm-up but nothing to write home about. He smiled and walked away up the bike path. I couldnt help myself so I untied real quick and caught up to him and introduced myself. He was cordial, like the time I bumped into him last year. He introduced me to his wife Tina and his friend Alex. I know we've talked about Stim on this board before but I just thought I'd mention that I saw him climbing again yesterday - I think its real cool. catbirdseat
I was at the Trestle area of Exit 38 last night and ran into Tom Hornbein who was climbing with Stim Bullit and his wife. We talked a bit about past climbs including the North Face of Johannesburg. These folks are a total class act. There must have been upwards of twenty people in the area and none of them recognized these two famous characters. I was totally honored and humbled to see these guys still out having fun on the rock.

I actually got to sit through Hornbein's lecture on high altidude sicknesses, and aclimitazation that he gives to the UW Medical School class every year. 1 hr of Altitude stuff, 1 hr of slides and talk about the west ridge of Everest and climbing in general. It so Most of the Med. students have no idea who he is but a few were just in awe like me!
