Wild Country are requesting the immediate return of all HELIUM KARABINERS AND QUICKDRAWS marked with the following batch codes: AAA, AAB, AAC, AAD, AAE, AAF PLEASE RETURN ANY HELIUM KARABINERS IMMEDIATELY TO WILD COUNTRY FOR INSPECTION. Alternatively return to us via the shop from which they were purchased. billcoe Posted July 26, 2004 Share Posted July 26, 2004 Tex, as I understand it, they caught a small group which didn't have the wire seating correctly on the nose. They fear that the carabiner would only have the gate open strength. They must have caught some with this after their regular QC, so thus the recall. In-process testing has identified a problem with a limited number of karabiners concerning the location of the gate on the nose of the karabiner under load. Should this problem occur in use the minimum breaking strength of the karabiner would be the "Gate Open" strength of 10kN.
