chucK Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Just thought I'd put up a little counter-thread to the peeve thread. Peeves are usually defined as things that really bug some people for some reason, but other than the needle in the brain, won't really cause any major damage to anyone. So what about the chuckles you get from other people being peeved about inconsequential things? Are you into shadenfreude? What hot chick out there wouldn't love having Klenke take her out to a restaurant just to watch as his brain slowly boils over the foil-wrapped butter, . Who among you would NOT like to be standing behind Gary Ingvy to witness 10 minutes of antsy fidgeting turn to full on body twitching by the time the 3rd person in front of him decides to pay with a check? Just a thought. Any good stories of witnessing people making much ado over nothing? Anybody out there ever intentionally attempted to aggravate the situation? Hope everyone likes the little green post icon guy I decided to use for this thread Quote
cracked Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 I see people get bent out of shape over nothing at all every day. Right here. Quote

Gary_Yngve Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 I get a kick out of seeing people waiting for the elevator and then taking the stairs and beating them to their destination. Same thing when jogging on the sidewalk and passing cars stuck in a traffic jam. "Haha, sucks to be you!" Quote

ScottP Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 I looked at that peeve thread and thought, "Only in America can people be so bothered by such trivial shit." I get a kick out of driving the speed limit only to have people barrel up to me, swerve around me, give me the finger and then turn to see me pull up next to them at the next light. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 ScottP, there's a difference between having a peeve and letting it bother you. Quote

ScottP Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 ScottP, there's a difference between having a peeve and letting it bother you. Hmm... A peeve is an annoyance. An annoyance is the state of being annoyed or irritated. As I see it, if someone has a peeve it is something that bothers them, hence the liberal use of and "WTF" in the peeve thread. Quote
