swaterfall Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Are there any climbing shops in the 'ham? Thanks. Quote
mountainguy01 Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 A few... American Alpine Institute REI (their stock is getting "larger") Sportsman Chalet (They are talking about getting gear) Quote
miller Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 the american alpine institute has a shop - thats probably your best bet for climbing gear. base camp closed down last summer, so otherwise youre left with REI. however, its a pretty quick drive (depending on when you go) to get to MEC in vancouver... olyclimber Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 So Basecamp is gone? Sounds like a business opportunity up there... Quote
layton Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 yeah, prime location, no competition, lots of big spenders! Try opening up a full scale climbing wall too. You'll be rich Quote

You'll be rich I meant selling out of the back of my car. You need a watch? Bham needs a good climbers gear shop. A climbing wall is another business all together. If there is a decent wall at WWU, you'd be a fool to try to run one there anyway. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 however, its a pretty quick drive (depending on when you go) to get to MEC in vancouver... and not much farther to valhalla pure in squamish. Quote
