marylou Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Ok, I just went to Staples for the first time and I've got a couple of things to say: Why the HELL is canned air so expensive? I mean, six bucks a can? Be real! And why do places have greeters? I find the whole greeter thing mighty annoying. I don't need to have a relationship with the crew at Staples, just to maybe buy a box of them. Quote

klenke Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Supply and demand. Supply and demand. Today I was in REI. I need a bigger mug for camping. Saw this super light titanium model: $30!!!!!! I like the weight of it (1.9 oz), but I don't need one that bad. Quote

assmonkey Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 And why do places have greeters? They help you find shit. You should just hand them your list when you get into the store and tell them you'll meet them at the checkout counter. Quote
willstrickland Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 Because it contains tetrafluoroethane in addition to "air". Greeters are suck, but at least give seniors with no employable skills a way to make some extra cash to pay for the bingo games or heart meds or food or viagra. Quote
foraker Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 Actually, it's 50 cents to make it in china, 50 cents to ship it across the ocean, and the rest goes to the offshore non-tax-paying corporate headquarters. Quote
lummox Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 i aspire to be a greeter. i dont have an alternate retirement plan. Quote
