mine has a vibram, non marking sole with a sort of jig saw pattern tread design. it might be the Tokay? all black webbing.no brand name on it.

I've got the Z2, which has the toe loop on it. There's the Z1, which is basically the Z2 with no toe loop. The sole on mine are vibram, but are not the same tread as Dru's...a bit smoother, still works well for hiking around in the summer. Get a pair, they're awesome!

OK, here it is:

There's Chaco's with or without toe loops, Z-2, and Z-1, respectively...

Then you get to choose your sole, Colorado sole, best for wet rock (rivers), the Terreno sole, basically a Vibram lug sole, and the 5.10 Aqua Stealth dot-tread.

Definately the Z2. As for which sole, both options are vibram. The lugged one is the Terrano and the smoother one is the Colorado. I think the Colorado is better for friction on approaches and it is slightly lighter. bigdrink.gif

the one with the lug sole. it will ast longer. i do not think that there would be much difference between the friction on approaches. as one with common sense would wear the proper footwear for the given activity.
