MrDoolittle Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 So, I've been checking out the Mars Rover SITE on a regular basis. Tons of crazy pics about the areas they are surveying, and plenty of comment regarding the fact that spectral data is being collected, but no data is being made available. What gives????? Quote
lummox Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 it is all taking place on a back lot in burbank california. Quote
catbirdseat Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 A Martian finally wandered into the field of view and everyone is in a panic. National security people are agonizing over what to do. The Pentagon people want to nuke 'em. The State Department people want to send a diplomatic robot lander. It might be a while before they get it all sorted out. Quote
MrDoolittle Posted February 27, 2004 Author Posted February 27, 2004 Has anyone seen the "blue-berries" in the suspected sedimentary rocks? What is the composition? Wouldn't you like to know, so that you can form your own hypothesis? Quote
burgersling Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Are the Euros eating their hearts out because their lander went kaput? Quote

burgersling Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Europe didn't have a successful mission going on, beaming back unprecedented images and data while we were trying to figure out what the heck happened. Dummy. Quote

vtgirl Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 NASA probably does want the general public to see the data b/c they want to make the discoveries. They don't want joe shmoe beating them to the punch. They'll probably release data after they've reached their conclusions. But it would me cool to see the raw data! At least we get to see pictures. Maybe you should try to get a job with NASA. Like as in MOVE to where the jobs are. The stagnant economy is Washington State, not everywhere else. Quote
