We had a great family outing at Spring Mountain in Eastern Oregon, nice mix of easy & hard, all at that family friendly 1/2 pitch length. Free camping, no forest pass needed, but it's too early if you're thinking to go really soon.

Squamish has worked well for us. There are a couple good crags for kids, and a bunch of other stuff for them to do (Murrin Park, good community center pool, train museum, more ? ...)

Always thought City of Rocks would be perfect, and sounds like Joshua Tree too, flat base areas, single-pitch climbs.

The City of Rocks is one of the most friendly areas we have climbed at. Try and stock up with supplies before you go, as amenities are somewhat distant. Showers in the small town of Alamo, but a solar shower is such the luxury...

Brittany and Northern France in general. See Martin Crocker article in one o' last years issues of High Mtn Sports.
