Many many people in this society live a secret existence w/ alcohol/substance abuse and "appear" to lead "normal" lives...showing up to work completely functional, but are completely dysfunctional off hours...truly sad, that when you are free from the man, you are fucked up... I would say pity the guy...not gloat...an opiate addiction is not one to be taken lightly and will bear on him for the rest of his life...and it may even take that life...
