PLC Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 So, I'm looking to rent-a-partner for a week or two in Little Switzerland in 2004. Does anyone know of any professional guides who go to this area? It'd be cool if they were laid-back enough to "let" me swap leads. Quote
erik Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 my friend and i will go and you pay for everything airfare and stuff, and we wont charge you. you can lead the pitches you want. we will cook. cheaper then a guide!! Quote
PLC Posted September 30, 2003 Author Posted September 30, 2003 If you are serious, I'd consider "sponsoring" you... but I'd need to climb with you a time or two down here before committing to a big trip. I've have some poor luck meeting partners on the internet.... which is why I tend to hire guides when I travel. Quote
specialed Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 Erik's serious and so am I. We WILL guide you. And we will make turkey sandwiches for you too. Quote
glacierdog Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 I probably couldn't do much to lead you, but I grew up in Alaska. I'll go. Plus, I could keep you entertained with stories of debauchery from deep in the core of the United States Navy. Same terms, though, you pay for everything. Quote
glacierdog Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 Of course, all is pending on whether I'm deployed or not. When are you thinking? Quote

bDubyaH Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 PLC, There are plenty of moderate climbs in LS, so if you hook up with some competent climbers you can have loads of fun. if you decide on the guide route one good place to check is Alaska Mountaineering School in Talkeetna. But it would be sweet if you could hook up a couple of CC'rs. my $0.02 Quote
glacierdog Posted October 12, 2003 Posted October 12, 2003 word to the wise: DON'T wander around Talkeetna after dark. Quote
