"Yeah, I'd drive my old heap of junk down to the Amoco station near every Friday—Friday bein' payday—buy myself a carton of cigarettes, six-pack of Busch, and a few lottery tickets," LeBarge said. "

And buy muhsef some extra ammunition cuz Ah'm savin' it up fer the Nigguh Wars.

Seriously, I had a ditch-digger type guy tell me that years ago in Virginia, and he really believed it.

Teddy LaBarge's name reminded me of my favorite rhyme, The Cremation of Sam McGee.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun

By the men who moil for gold,

And the arctic trails have their secret tales

That would make your blood run cold.

The northern lights have seen queer sights,

But the queerest they ever did see

Was the night on the marge of Lake LaBarge

I cremated Sam McGee.

This guy figured that if he continued to buy lottery tickets that it was inevitable that he would win. What a lot of codswaddle! I'm proud to say I have never wasted a dollar on a lottery ticket.
