WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Technically, 9000 feet equals 2743m. Given mapping and survey errors, 2740m seemed like a good cutoff.

The next 28 summits, in order, are: Quartz Crystal 2737m Kwoiek 2734m Redoubt 2730m Sloan 2725m Peak 8900 2720m Kumkan 2720m Peak 8900 2720m Peak 8900 2720m Peak 8900 2715m Wheatley 2715m Owls 2710m Sir Richard 2710m Remora 2710m Joffre 2710m Lesser Wedge 2710m Icemaker 2710m Peak 8880 2707m Mittelberg 2706m Spickard 2706m Cy01 2704m Mermaid 2704m Guthrum 2703m Relay 2702m Peak 8866 2702m Oluk 2700m Tremor 2691m Peak 8800 2690m James Turner 2686m

There's a whole clump at 8800', so it makes sense to include all the peaks down to Garibaldi, which is another 16 summits, for a total of 116: Peak 8800 2686m Peak 8800 2685m Pk 8810 2685m Cy03 2685m Cy11 2685m Peak 8800 2685m Perry 2685m Rex 2684m Pk 8800 2682m Pk 8800 2682m Cook 2680m Moe 2680m Plinth 2680m Winter 2680m Peak 8790 2679m Garibaldi 2678m.

Get busy, peak baggers.

BAH! Errors suck. Take Big Chief off. Its a ringer, only 8500'. Someone had misentered it at 9000'. Therefore, the numbers should be 71, 100 and 115. The bivy.com list has been updated.

hey dru, how hard would it be to find a list of all b.c. peaks over 3350 m. (+/- 11,000 ft.)...? I'm guessing there are only maybe 10 or 12?

Yeah, I guess it's tough now that Robin has erased all your masturbatory, self-congratulatory avatars boxing_smiley.gif

First thing I do every morning is check to see if anyone has recommended my latest photo or TR so that I can gain an accurate picture of my worth as a human being. IT'S JUST SO GODAMNED HARD TO PLEASE SOME PEOPLE frown.gif

i dont have any avatars on bivouac.com but that's a good idea! evils3d.gif

cool project, dru. i love lists. makes goal-setting a cinch...

fyi, i'm at 16 of your 9,000-ers, 19 of the top 100, and 21 of 115. not that knocking off this list is "on my list"!

re: details, i'd argue the stuff on the fringes of the lillooet icefields is REALLY pushing the boundaries of SWBC (i.e., weekend range from vancouver). despite kobus barnard...

and btw, i reckon u need to spend a bunch of time on the BC basemap to confirm heights and priorities. you'll find the latest TRIM data quite different than a lot of the topo-mapping, and i predict your list will need to change quite a bit as a result. use a clear 100m gap to eliminate sub-summits if they get to be troublesome.

cheers,
