There are only 2 pitches of ice, it's NOT too thin and there is a ladder of steps up it unless it snows again. dberdinka and I did it yesterday (Wed). JoshK Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 If it was me personally, I would aim to hit the "ice" pitches between couliors 1 and 2 by sunrise, but that's just me. Darin and I postholed in mushy snow circumnavigating the lake. It remained warm and the snow was soft and the ice plastic. But there is plenty of ice (thickness wise, but narrow in spots) and it should be fine even if it's above freezing.
