Pencil_Pusher Posted November 29, 2001 Posted November 29, 2001 So I'll be headed down there in a bit and was wondering if anyone had any info on some moderate, one-day outings there? Moderate to the normal man, not Jens or Loren moderate. I'm sure there's tons there. Perhaps you know of an area that offers different routes up water ice of varying degrees of difficulty? All I'm looking for is a day trip from Denver. Estes Park maybe? I dunno. E-mail pencil_pusher@hotmail.com if you don't want to leave a post. Thanks for any info. Quote
JRCO Posted November 29, 2001 Posted November 29, 2001 Check out Clear Creek Canyon. It is 15 minutes from Downtown Denver. If there is no ice there is rock climbing. Also check out www.climbingboulder.com for more info. Quote
AlpineK Posted November 30, 2001 Posted November 30, 2001 There is stuff in Clear Creek Canyon, and also some easy stuff just off the road in Boulder Canyon. Also there are a couple climbs off the highway between Ned and Estes. Quote
freeclimb9 Posted November 30, 2001 Posted November 30, 2001 there is stuff to climb near Denver, but expect the Colorado crowds. I've got some info at www.iceclimb.com/CO.html . Golden is pretty close, as is the farmed ice in Boulder canyon and the ice in Clear Creek Canyon on the way there. There's ice already in inside the Rocky Mtn. Natl. Park. Let us know what you find.
