christian510 Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Sounds like people around here are more interested in my typing than climbing. Anyway, just thought I would drop all you spray geeks a line about my last climb -- this time I found a partener. We climbed Yokum ridge Saturday. 15 hours round trip. We made an error locating the correct couloir to reach the top or the Queen's chair. I ended up leading some AI 6 rime ice. VERY HEAD'S UP. I will give more info later. Quote
layton Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Sweet, I'm glad that christians can climb 510. I'll be doing that route when I'm forced to move to P-town next year. WAy to go. Quote
Skisports Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 What in the hell is AI 6? Thats a bit hard to belevie I am not trying to take away from your climb.. AI6 would be like climbing a 120 degree for 30ms.. Quote
cracked Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 There's a AI8 on Kitchener in the Rockies now. Quote
CraigA Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Christian, I was up to do Leuthold on Sunday with b-rock and Funguy, we saw your tracks on Yocum where you started and where you skirted the first gendarme (after we bailed on Leuthold do to MAJOR ice fall, just ask Funguy's knee and helmet!!), but I didn't see any tracks heading up to the ridge line proper. At what point did you gain the ridge crest? Did you traverse all the way past the second gendarme? Did you tackle the upper buttress? Just wondering! Â Congrats on an awesome climb, I hope to do it someday myself. Â Craig Quote
rbw1966 Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 I gotta admire your persistence on Leutholds. Quote
Winter Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Does this mean FUnguy took another fall in a Leuthold's attempt? Quote

texplorer Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Nice job christian. Ridge or no, its a fun route. I am interested to hear your full trip report soon. Yokum is serious but its not a "death route" by any means. Quote
