j_b Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 OW - it's called a pre-climb TR! did you check the gallery? I uploaded a number of pics from the same flight, different mtns though. I have a few more as well. I hope I don't get too much hate mail for showing someone's project. Quote
Off_White Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 j_b, yes I saw those, excellent eye candy. You took those on a flight? I'm so jealous, thanks for sharing. Quote
Lowell_Skoog Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 I said: I have a slide of the N face of Triumph taken in 1986 during a winter ascent of Mt Despair. However, I don't have a slide scanner. So, that probably doesn't help you much. Okay, now I have a scanner. Here's the pic. This was taken in early March, 1986, during the first winter ascent of Mt Despair. We had climbed the standard route on Triumph the previous day. This was during a fine weather spell following a period of heavy snow followed by heavy rain. I believe Jim Nelson and Kit Lewis climbed the NE buttress of Slesse during this same period. Quote
slothrop Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Awesome photo! By "standard route" do you mean the NE ridge? Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 I'm guessing Lowell means the west route. Beckey lists Lowell in the party having the FWA of Triumph, but it doesn't list any FWAs for NE Ridge. Quote
David_Parker Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Maybe you can climb Colonial as a warm up. Quote
