glassgowkiss Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 If you haven't seen the movie yet, do! Even though it's not really a "climbing movie", it's a great documentary about Alex and an incredible solo on Free Rider on ElCap. Quote
genepires Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 we were able to buy/download the movie to our PC and watch it for $10 plus some tax. well worth the money. Quote
glassgowkiss Posted February 27, 2019 Author Posted February 27, 2019 iTumes is already selling it, and renting it as of yesterday. Quote
stillcrankin Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I had to fight the urge to hide under my bed after I saw it.... Quote
jon Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 If you can see it in the theaters you have to. In a way I wonder if the people who voted for best picture actually saw it. I've never experienced something like that in a cinema, especially knowing exactly what happens. It's really a remarkable achievement. Props to @Wallstein what an amazing thing to have been part of. matt_warfield Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 I first saw this excellent movie in Seattle with about 10 people and then saw it again in Bishop with about 100. It is on TV on March 3 on the National Geographic channel. Mikey's contribution behind and in front of the camera is superb. Quote
pup_on_the_mountain Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Came across this commentary by Alex Honnold on climbing scenes in movies on YouTube. The oscar is certainly making climbing a bit more "mainstream"... Quote
