  1. CircleK and I did the route in 1990, and I remember that it was easy. We found that belayed downclimbimg was the easiest way to descend. I think that the Torment Basin trail has largely returned to the forest.

    Hello?

Hey CircleK, were you talking about me? I thought I was a jackass.
  3. Is Dwayner the iceman? The big wall wanna be (will never be)?
  4. Why are you so angry CircleK? Your idea of boozing in Rat City is a good one.
  5. Dogs belong at home, and so do their hollier than thou owners. I don't want to deal with their or your shit or noise. Every goddamn sport climber thinks that they have to own a pooch.
  6. It would be hard, but not very long. The first aid pitch is about 25', the second about 12'.
  7. In 1981 I took three twenty footers straight onto the belay on the crux. Went back several weeks later and did the route. After the hooking the route eases, but is in no way easy.
  8. HOOTERS HOOTERS HOOTERS! I love HOOTERS!

    Do you toke up?

    I've climbed drunk, I've climbed stoned, I've climbed so fucked up I couldn't walk. I climb better when I ain't, so I don't anymore.

  11. Knapweed is an introduced species, and the removal of this plant is encouraged by Chelan county and the Feds. I am sure that there is a proper way of doing it, and maybe some of the schucks that organized this stupid ass thing will contact the USFS for information on knapweed removal. If RAT reads this, I am sure he could help inform us, he is a world leading expert on weeds, pigs, and garbage.
  12. Highclimb: I'm sorry. You are young, and there is hope for you. Pope: You need some Lykis 101 CircleK: Did you really really like it?
  13. Pope, CircleK, Highclimb: You schmucks need to listen to Tom Lykis, and get of the leash and on to booty call.
  14. I have been to both Private Idaho and Rattletale this year. I think only the trail has been affected, although it looks like Jingus Fling and Seets for Manual may have been damaged.

    Entiat

Dear Mr. Rat, I was just wondering if you are my good buddy Rat Boy, or just a phony ass imposter. The real Rat Boy may not want to answer a question by someone of Max's limited ethics. But given that Max called AlpineK an idiot, you may have changed your mind. The real Rat Boy could easily make an intelligent paragraph out of the following: AlpineK, Fire, Cascade Triple roofs, slow, Mark Wellman, George Will, SODO.

    Bolt-mania

I had trouble following Max's logic. I think he said that the only people who have a vote in the climbing ethics of Index (or anywhere else) are the two climbers who happen to live in Index. Max is a moron, and everyone who has climbed at Index for any amount of time is important, no matter what their zip or area code is. I also don't think that the fact that the dolts who retro'ed DDD had Dan Lepeska's permission is at all pertainent. I bet Dan hasn't climbed in at least ten years, and subsequent ascents such as Jen's gives him a footing almost equal to Lepeska.

Donna, I think that Pete agree's with you!

    Bolt-mania

I own a battery powered saw-zall with a metal cutting blade!
  19. Peter Puget: There were questions about both Princely Ambitions, and the Great Northern Slab blocks. The latter has not been answered yet. Hemlock: There were several pig riggers, and it would be wrong to credit only one.
  20. Aires, 5.10a crack under 5.6 handcrack on slab. In Fred Beckeys 1976 guidebook, Diane Dailey can be seen climbing the aforementioned crack, with a big block at the start. When, and how, did the block fall? Fred Grafton and BJ are pals again. Everytime Fred see's BJ and friends, he says "it the pig's head guys".
  21. Don't ever listen to Al Pacifico
  22. I think that "two-faced piece of shit" did most of the rigging, while BJ basked in glory of blame. These two were definetly in the Glimmer twins mold. But Joe also played an important role. How did we do ScottP? On to Walter B. When Dan Lepeska placed that bolt (twenty years ago), it was actually a big deal - rapp bolts. Thence the name, because he felt Walter Bonatti was the epitome of climbing purity.

    Big Lou

Pope boy: As we speak I am reading your heart throbs book. He also writes about the "Rim" club. I think we all know what that is double speak for. I hope you get the mounting you wish.

    Big Lou

Were you the little pervert hanging out in the bathroom at Paradise Saturday with a camera, tape measure, and some KY? First Ichero is hassled over his member, now poor Lou. I really don't understand your type. It was also my understanding that Lou and Jim lost their virginity to each other.

    Music

How about a semi-old farts (older than caveman, younger than Donini, Hargis, and JM) choice of Iggy Pop, Bruce Williams, Tom Lykis, and the Sex Pistols. Don't mention Led Zeppilin too loud, or CircleK will climb up on his electro lounge music bullshit soapbox.
