  3. Metolius Camming Devices 3 Sizes: 4, 6, 8 All in perfect working order and no falls on them. These match closely to a Camalot 0.5, 1.0 and in between a 2 and 3.
  4. What rope spacing do you use in the Casacdes on glaciers and why? Recently I took a glacier travel refresher course since it was 10 years ago that I did my last one. I thought things might have improved and changed a bit on the way one rigs up and rescues etc. We were told that 3 on a rope should space out at ~30 feet apart on Cascade routes. Apparently this is adequate for Cascade glaciers but not so in Alaska where the crevasses will typically be larger and more distance should be given between climbers. Our team consisted of 3 on a rope with a 60 foot coil carried by the lead and tail member. Interested in hearing what you set up for your teams.
  5. My digital pocket camera crapped out this weekend on Jefferson and I am looking for some feedback on what your using for a climbing camera. I am considering some of the Olympus SW (shock & weather) models as well as the Pentax W series. Thanks for your advice. PS. I should say that I also found this post useful http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Main/57986/Number/777653#Post777653

  8. Anyone climb the Valley View West crag? There are a couple of bolted routes mid-wall which aren't shown on the Exit 38 site. Any idea on the grades? Have you climbed them? I think one of them is Traverse to the Hole? Thanks
  9. I was over there a few weeks ago and the route was wet. Wondering if anyone has any comments to add if the route is currently dry and climbable. I'd rather not burn the hydrocarbons and stay local if it is not in shape. Thanks
  10. Recovered and thanks to the guys at Outward Bound in Mazama.
  11. My partner and I climbed Clean Break last weekend and intended going car-car. We pretty much did that but had some timing issues and had to abandon finding our packs in the boulder field with fading light. I won't have time to go fetch them this week but we are offering $100 if you want to go climb the fine route and fetch our packs. There isn't much in them so hauling out won't be an issue and I know the altitude and rough location of the packs. Any takers wanting to get paid to climb??
  12. I would like to go do Orbit but am thinking of linking some pitches together. Any advice on what pitches can be linked and do I need a 60m or 70m to link?

Warm-ups and then 10's and 11's and maybe find a project? Easy going day... Ping me at 512dude@gmail.com Thx PS. A moderate start time is my thought...
  15. Do you guys think I should pull the Infinite Bliss topo down? I have some concern it may create additional controversy and or additional traffic which may in turn create more issues? Can you give me some feedback I'd like to hear from the CC community on this one. Thanks, C
