That's not quite true. The Dolly Sods wilderness area in West Virginia was formerly intensively logged. Closer to the PNW a former mine site in Mt. Rainier National Park has been included within Wilderness boundaries. Of course if we apply a strict "untrammeled by man" much of the western forests where the Indians used fire to manage undergrowth (including Yosemite) would not be fit for inclusion.
