as of last Thursday, June 16, the Stuart Glacier 'schrund is passable via a short mixed step. The Sherpa Glacier 'schrund is just starting to open up but has a nice snow bridge over it. Approach up the creek is relatively straightforward, flotation not required. ymmv.

I was belaying my friend on Loaves of Fun at Pearly Gates when a goat nearly landed on top of me after jumping off the large boulder next to the route. I guess it didn't see me, but had I not jumped out of the way, I think I woulda been pretty fuhq'd

I bought slider pinky rests for my Grivel tools, and have a question about the "aerospace rivets" as described in the instruction manual. The bottom holes on my tools are not threaded, but strangely enough they accept the screws that come with the sliders. Is this the design, or should the holes be threaded? My concern is that the pinky rest will pop off mid-climb. Anyone else have experience with this?

Aluminum is a great choice for glacier/snow slogging. I have a pair of Stubai Ultralights and like them a lot. Check out the BD Neve if you aren't interested in the Stubai.
