  1. I'm still showing 5 pages and 102 (103, now) posts... and Good2Go's comments are all still there. Must just be you guys
  2. I had a chance to fap with the pack more last night. It's definitely not for the casual nor novice user. I pulled the stay out and hammered on it on the garage for a bit- really tweaked it at the ends to get it curved out off my massive ass of steel, and athe top to help suck the load in. Worked with some compression combinations on the suspension system, then tried some nonspecific-strap compression combos... Man, I've never had a pack fit so good. Sucks into my back, responds really well with a big, heavy load... At least monkeying around with it- only an alpine excersion will tell for sure. Anyway... It's a pain in the ass, but probably with it.
  3. I saw cougar tracks mixed in with goat tracks on the east side of Adams last summer... It was "neat" in a "oh cool, nature" kind of way... it also made me want to take one of my ice tools off my pack.
  4. Is it just me, or does the cheap-shot REALLY seem to be on the rise, this election season? Taking peoples' benign and/or inane comments and twisting them into some ridiculous unintended meaning. These people just make themselves look fucking stupid when they misrepresent others' comments.
  5. Sounds like Cilo dropped the ball, to me. I still like my pack. I didn't get an NWD, and have zero interest in NWD.
  6. They do state at the bottom of their return policy that they don't return the NWD packs. But if they just completely failed to even address the issue, that's bullshit. I've sent them a couple emails... they certainly take their time getting back to you, but who knows why. I've experienced long turnover on emails with other small, specialty companies also. Just seems to be the nature of small, specialty companies. Have you tried calling?
  7. They still never got back to you after threatening to sue? How long ago was this?
  8. Damn, dude... this sounds hardcore. I suspect there was a lot of neglected responsibility on your own part... were you a total ass about everything? Did they ask you questions that you never answered, therefor they never could come to a conclusion on the best way to handle your warranty claim? Did you give the pack back to them completely fucked up (not just the torn seams)? etc...? It's been my experience that people are never innocent when they report heinous accounts of companies being almost abusive to their patient, forgiving buyers. And every account I've seen of people having problems with Cilo packs, most of which damage due to accidents/abuse, Cilo has either fixed it for free or just swapped out for a new pack. Therefor, I think your account isn't the full story.
  9. Did I just buy from or sell you something, coldfinger? Why not every-day? Durability?
  10. This is the fucking Gravitrex edition, dude. Don't embarrass yourself with anything else on the trail.
  11. I might just end up with 30 and 45 Worksacks. But I'll take a look at the CCWs- I've heard about em, but never looked.. I know they have a devoted following.
  12. I think I do need to adjust the frame sheet stay- loaded up, it hits my lower back weird. It's not exactly uncomfortable, but I think on a long hike it probably would get that way- no dig on the pack, I haven't even attempted to fap with it yet. It's a super versatile pack. I haven't even begun to learn all the strap/compression configurations. My man at mountain shop said there should be a booklet in the brain pouch that shows... Mine must be missing. Is it supposed to come with a user manual? A guy can figure Shiite out for himself, but a little guidance would go a long way. So far I've had the pack loaded pretty much everywhere between its capacity range, and it does compress down really well and hug the back when properly adjusted- better than I expected. I was also pleasantly surprised at how well it humps a big, heavy load- but I've only done it on level terrain for short distances so far. No, man... It's a great pack, and I can't wait to get it on some shit this winter. It might even replace my Khamsin. Maybe when I get a better grasp of how to efficiently manage it, it'll even fill my current need.
  13. I actually do like it, and the more I use it (just using it to haul my shit around Oregon right now) the more I like it. BUT... It's not what I was looking for. I still need that pack: super basic, 40l, super light.
  14. Dayum. There's probably only a thin, icy layer of snow coating 800' of steep, very loose volcanic crap up there right now, OP. might be worthwhile to hike up and look, but I wouldn't get too close unless your pretty sure of yourself. There's a lot of extremely experienced local climbers who won't be going anywhere near that slag heap for a month yet.
  15. Damn, bro... Great TR... glad I decided to run through this thread again- I never saw your post, the first time around.
  16. What time of year and what kind of load were you packing?
  17. Yesterday
  18. There's a kid (employee) at the Portland Mountain Hardwear store that mentioned his bro's gear got jacked out of his car around that time.... don't remember where he said the guy was from, but since nobody's had any input, I figured I'd put that up. I'd say I'd stop in there and ask myself, but I'm out of town for the foreseeable future...
  19. I'll be there.. trying to get bros to go, but they're all bitching out
  20. Picked up a Cilogear Worksack 45 today. If I don't like it, I'm sure I can turn it right around here or on MP Thanks gentlemen
  21. I'm coming out of a phase of trying to go as cheap as I can... what I found was that spending $75 instead of $200 very frequently results in spending $275.
  22. Almost bought a Summitrocket 40 today, but then I heard Mountain Shop carries and stocks Cilogear.. I'll stop in tomorrow afternoon and check 'em out in the flesh. Eyeing that 45 liter Worksack... 22 to 75 adjustability range??
  23. Lots of support for the Cilogears... so they climb really well? Stay put, and are low-profile? They LOOK bulky, in the pics, and like they'd want to shift around more than the suction-cup packs I listed above. Are they all frameless? Thanks for the input, gentlemen.
  24. Good job.. super jelly- I tried this route about a month ago, and the trip fell apart on me. Did you see nothing break off the upper Kautz? I watched a pretty good size piece come off, when I was up there. I'm surprised it's still climbable, if sub-optimally
  25. +1 I have had that pack for 3 years and LOVE it! Super durable, super light What's your typical load/route with that pack?
