  1. I'm not finding the non-23 Nanos... happen to have a link?
  2. There's not a whole lot else to lighten up, at this point. In the last year, I've been upgrading ALL my gear, and I always keep myself in good shape. I ditched my plastic boots, switched to a g-string harness, got a much lighter tent, switched to a 8.9mm single, went to a light and compressible down bag, finally realized a Jetboil is a lot lighter than 100oz of water, stopped bringing all those extra layers I never used, etc. I hadn't focused on the rock rack, because I've primarily just cragged with it, and having a 7lb rack for a 100', 5 minute approach just doesn't scream at you. But now that my experience is increasing and my ambitions expanding, and I'll be doing increasingly more alpine rock and mixed climbing, the rock rack weight is starting to matter.
  3. Switching to Metolius UL cams and Nano carabiners... It's going to almost halve the weight of my rack. Anybody ever swap out hexes for big cams when headed into the unknown in the alpine?
  4. Looking for sizes: UL Powercam: 4 UL TCU: 0-3 Thanks! --- For emphasis- I'm looking for the current version of Ultralite cams in both styles.
  5. Gonna be cold and calmish this weekend... probably pretty deep, too, eh?
  6. More of the same inaction is fine with me. Go Obamney!
  7. What's the policy on snowmobiles on Hood? Or dogsleds... Horses? Pack-mounted airboat motors...
  8. Excellent, Matt. That almost looks like ice up there..
  9. Psh.. I was totally gonna buy it, if the tools and pons came with it.
  10. daaaaaaaawwwwwwww! now only the 'smash n' grab' bitches can do it! Wanna go in on a chopper?
  11. Howdy In trying to lighten up my rack, I swapped all my solid gates to hotwires... Then I learned that Camp Nanos are almost half the weight of my old hotwires, so I just ordered up 24 of those... Then it hit me- I bet they're making lighter cams these days... My rack consists of 8 small hole or U stem camalots and 5 ancient TCUs... How much can I expect to lighten up by switching to a modern light cam? What cams do you recommend? Are there cAms that are too light (durability)? Thanks -Ben
  12. Anybody happen to have some Dart fronts? Would like to keep it around $50, but depends on what kinda shape they're in Thanks -Ben
  13. I'm still showing 5 pages and 102 (103, now) posts... and Good2Go's comments are all still there. Must just be you guys
  14. I had a chance to fap with the pack more last night. It's definitely not for the casual nor novice user. I pulled the stay out and hammered on it on the garage for a bit- really tweaked it at the ends to get it curved out off my massive ass of steel, and athe top to help suck the load in. Worked with some compression combinations on the suspension system, then tried some nonspecific-strap compression combos... Man, I've never had a pack fit so good. Sucks into my back, responds really well with a big, heavy load... At least monkeying around with it- only an alpine excersion will tell for sure. Anyway... It's a pain in the ass, but probably with it.
  15. I saw cougar tracks mixed in with goat tracks on the east side of Adams last summer... It was "neat" in a "oh cool, nature" kind of way... it also made me want to take one of my ice tools off my pack.
  16. ***Looks like I found my bag... thanks! Howdy Looking to buy a good quality used down bag. Looking for a temp rating somewhere between -5 and 5, hopefully no more than 3lbs, definitely no more than 3.5lbs, nicely compressible, in good condition, and preferably with a waterproof shell. Also, must be local... I want to come see it (smell it) and trade you a sweaty wad of moneys for it right there in person. What you got? PM me. Thanks, -Ben
  17. Is it just me, or does the cheap-shot REALLY seem to be on the rise, this election season? Taking peoples' benign and/or inane comments and twisting them into some ridiculous unintended meaning. These people just make themselves look fucking stupid when they misrepresent others' comments.
  18. Sounds like Cilo dropped the ball, to me. I still like my pack. I didn't get an NWD, and have zero interest in NWD.
  19. They do state at the bottom of their return policy that they don't return the NWD packs. But if they just completely failed to even address the issue, that's bullshit. I've sent them a couple emails... they certainly take their time getting back to you, but who knows why. I've experienced long turnover on emails with other small, specialty companies also. Just seems to be the nature of small, specialty companies. Have you tried calling?
  20. They still never got back to you after threatening to sue? How long ago was this?
  21. Damn, dude... this sounds hardcore. I suspect there was a lot of neglected responsibility on your own part... were you a total ass about everything? Did they ask you questions that you never answered, therefor they never could come to a conclusion on the best way to handle your warranty claim? Did you give the pack back to them completely fucked up (not just the torn seams)? etc...? It's been my experience that people are never innocent when they report heinous accounts of companies being almost abusive to their patient, forgiving buyers. And every account I've seen of people having problems with Cilo packs, most of which damage due to accidents/abuse, Cilo has either fixed it for free or just swapped out for a new pack. Therefor, I think your account isn't the full story.
  22. Did I just buy from or sell you something, coldfinger? Why not every-day? Durability?
  23. This is the fucking Gravitrex edition, dude. Don't embarrass yourself with anything else on the trail.
