  1. Yeah nice photos of great rock. I didn't know that finger crack was there but it looks great.
  2. From the perspective of a flyfisher and native ecology junky this is going to be awesome. The amount of wilderness salmon habitat above those dams is staggering, and the river's beautiful up there. I guess it's still a long way off even after they remove the dams but I can't wait to hike the upper tributaries and see salmon redds.
  3. There was a big study of the grizzlies (or lack of grizzlies) in the national park this summer, I've looked around for the results of the study but haven't found anything. Anybody know anything about it? They set 90 baited barbed wire snares to snag hair which they DNA tested. The bears are always kind of in the back of my mind when I'm up there, just find them fascinating. Thanks.
  4. Wow. Seeing this in November is putting the hurt on my soul, way to get on it.
  5. David Aurora's pocket guide "all the rain promises and more" is fantastic for this area for anyone looking to fill a backpack with edible mushrooms. I've always got an eye out for Porcini. Lots around this time of year.
  6. Thanks for putting up the report Ty, here are some shots: Pitch 1 Summit slopes Excavating rappel anchors
  7. Permit season is over in the enchantments area, there are some good routes in the Nelson guides up there.
  8. There are small rainbows in most of the upper enchantments lakes, all of the bigger lakes I glassed in August had fish in them. I saw a few bigger (like 10-12 inch) rainbows in Isolation lake. I talked to a guy who claimed there were lake trout in that lake for what that's worth. From Prusik pass I could see fish rising in Shield lake, if I was headed up there to fish that's where I'd go. It's low enough that maybe the fish are actually able to grow there. If you make it up there I'd love to know if the fishing was decent. Not a bad climbing destination either.
  9. Yeah I looked at that chimney, I think the beckey topo is a little off but his route description is correct. There's a layback to the right off the 3rd class ledges, the correct chimney (low 5th) is on the south aspect with pretty sweet views.
  10. I'm thinking mostly of trad 9's and 10's or bolted 11's. Davis Holland, godzilla thru sloe children, or the like. There are a few bolted 11's on the blues cliff which I'd like to give a shot. I've got a rack and a car. I'd also be interested in Infinite Bliss on Mt Garfield. Tobias
  11. Missed your call, I'm around now. Tobias
  12. Hey I'm interested. I can lead 10's, try to lead 11's, and try to follow 12's. I've got a car, I'd have to be back by about 9. Tobias 607-227-9934
