Anyone hankerin' for one of these? Let me know, I have donor screws available, or can shorten one of your BD 10 or 13 cm screws. super stubby post w/ photo

These cams actually were called Cable Pros. They were the immediate forerunner to CCH Aliens and are functionally equivalent. The stem sheath is a bit different, that's about it. And they didn't come with sewn slings but I just had Dyneema slings put on these. A few broken strands on one trigger wire of the green unit; everything else is fine. Lobe wear is minimal. $25 each, shipping extra unless you buy all three.

Yes, it was my DIY version of the Grivel (or maybe it was Petzl, I forget) winder. I think they called it the Turbine or something like that. It was the cat's ass for cranking in knobless Cassin and Grivel screws, and I had it on a retractor cord so it hung close against my chest. Only problem was that the thing only worked clockwise, so my seconds hated the screws. Eventually I made a counter clockwise version of it for removing the screws, but by then I was pretty much racking all knobbed screws.

I make these knobs for those who want to update their non-knob screws (BD Turbos, possibly other makes). $3 each + shipping. You simply epoxy them to the hanger. No, they don't fold down, but they would snap off before they would damage a rope in the event they got snagged in a fall. Available in either white plastic or knurled aluminum spinner. No functional difference - the aluminum are a touch lighter, the plastic a bit easier for me to make in quantity.

For Sale: BRAND NEW La Sportiva Nepal EVO GTX 43.5
Gunkiemike replied to Julian B's topic in The Yard Sale
You're going to have to take more than 2% off the retail price if you are to have any chance of re-selling these. But really, I don't know any store that won't accept returns on unworn footwear. -
Are you a fan of thin ice smears? Tired of bottoming out your 10cm screws? Here's the solution. A set of two cut-down screws, approx. 7cm and 8cm. Super sharp, with the taller, more aggressive teeth that bite super fast. (I can get these to bite and support themselves with 1/3 of a turn) The 8 cm makes the perfect panic piece. Donor screws were OP and BD Turbo. NOTE - second photo shows these screws next to a stock 10 cm Turbo. 10 cm NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS A SET OF TWO SCREWS. SOLD link to photos

I've made pinkie rests from 2-part epoxy putty. It's surprisingly strong - I've been whacking mine against the ice for 5+ years. And you can make it whatever size you want: tight for more support, or bigger if you have fat hands. As for T rated picks, they were never very common, but these folks may still have them: http://www.silvertipmountaincenter.com/silvertipmountaincenter_g59.html

I think Smiley's got bought out by Omega Pacific. OP made screws for a while that looked a lot like the old Smiley's screws. Just to keep this history going... those older OPs had the worst plating I've ever seen. It would flake off and the roughness if left behind made the screws signif. more difficult to screw in. No amount of emery cloth polishing seemed to fix it. Then they switched to the gold hanger design, and the problem went away. This was about the time that folks were ditching their BD screws for the faster-starting Grivel 360s so the gold OPs went unloved. They left the market at $30 a piece which was a screaming good deal because they were every bit as good as the BDs. Better in fact that the BD Turbos. And then along came the silver hanger BDs and the pendulum swung back.

Given your oh-so-certain but 100% INCORRECT response, your sig line is particularly appropriate.
-
Never saw a hanger that shape on any BD screw. Smileys and the early Omegas look exactly like that, and they were widely sold.
-
Dang, looks like you've spent more on boots than I did for my last car.

BRAND NEW full set (#1-6) of the thin BD pins $50 + 5 shpg

In case anyone is still looking for a set of Quarks: Quarks FS

If you're going to take a close-up of the pick, take the cover off the tip.

Just a comment - those last shoes are trashed. You've gone through the sole, the rand, and all the way through the leather. No resole job can repair all that.

There should be a letter stamped into the metal between the front two mounting screws. That's some sort of code re. size. N is normal, that's all I know.
