Question on classes in climbing water fall ice
Tokogirl replied to ChrisHXX's topic in Ice Climbing Forum
May want to check out: http://www.mountainguides.com/ouray.shtml, Jeff Ward is very good with lots of experience or http://mountainschool.com/ouray_ice_climbing.html with John and Olivia. -
Matt P - true it is a site but not alot there and unsure who owns it: forest service or private as there are some checkboard pieces of land up there.

Jake, The guy you spoke with is a fair individual and should be a good guy to deal with. Also, the group sites are really the only spots I have found close to town and climbing that will accomidate that many folks. I know of someone with a farm but it is 10 miles out of town and then you are dealing with porta potties, etc. I would be happy to chat with the campground host prior to the event if needed. Not sure if I this would help in any way but the offer is out there. Teresa

My friend Justin and I had finished up with Prusik Peak and were descending the Pass when we saw the heli fly over. Though we weren't sure what was happening, figuared it was a rescue, our thoughts were with the climbing party involved. Glad to hear you got out okay and are on the mend Mark! See you out there again soon. Teresa

Tokogirl replied to JasonG's topic in Climber's Board
I had heard about the accident through a ranger friend of mine but did not know all the details. Great way you all handled a difficult and challenging situation! Best to Steve and hoping Jason gets a clear weather window. -
Thank for the great trip report and bug update. Love the area and variety of climbing routes on surrounding peaks. Route looks fun. Planning on doing Tenpeak Mtn. next weekend so know I will plan on running the first few miles to get ahead of them little devils!

Deer - far left, where the first boulder meets the lake. Nice pictures John! Way to enjoy a great day in the Enchantments. -
You can access it via a trail just outside of Keremeos, Wall Creek trail. After a few miles on this trail we struck out going cross country to Cathedral Lakes heading sout/southeast.

Had an excellent climb/ski there this past weekend! Good snow up high but getting sloppy as we descended. Thanks for the beta and thumbs up to the skiing! Teresa
