By DAN WHITE Published: October 31, 2008 LONG ago the expanding city of Seattle swallowed up two of its neighbors, and neither of them has ever forgotten. Seattle, Wash. Ballard and Fremont, once cities in their own right, are now Seattle neighborhoods of a particularly independent-minded kind. They’re close together, though not contiguous, and if you travel to either of them today, you’ll encounter a unique character that still resists complete assimilation — Nordic and proudly maritime in Ballard; arty and free-spirited in Fremont.
  2. Pfft, their lenses couldn't handle the xxx-treme lines being thrown down in the deep pow on Hood. Plus you have to walk like, 20 feet to the snowcat and alpine boots don't do so well on the rime. You didn't have the proper huckdoll neon apparel, did you?

  8. I believe "charity donations" would be perceived as bribes and therefore illegal to do with campaign donations.
  9. Until you get your dick stuck in the head of a sledgehammer. that's not really exciting, more embarassing and painful when they aspirate
  10. It's Barack. And if that weren't enough voting libertarian discredits you from having any meaningful opinion about the business of governance. You know, what you are voting for them to do. Unlike Libertarians who are free to make promises of sugarplums, supermodel blowjobs and world peace because they know they'll never have to do jack shit. They can get $ for just showing up like the good intellectual welfare people they are. It's the ideology of graft.
  11. you'd sport a woody the moment you walked into the locker room. It's like the night I met you, FW, and KK at the gay bathhouse.
  12. eh? the climbings all past Ojai. Checkout the Sespe River gorge: http://www.stephenpratt.net/Ojai/SespeGorge/SespeGorge.htm or Wheeler Gorge: http://www.tradgirl.com/areas/ca/wheeler.shtml closer in there's assorted things not really worth the effort. In general in Ventura/Santa Barb go surfing. Surfing >>>>> Climbing there, especially at this, the best fucking time of the year
  13. given they are designed for different types of impact protection seems a rather silly compromise.
  14. I don't see those words as anti-semetic, although anti-semitism was common then. That's your interpretation of a document made in different times. Jews were the only money lenders at that time, as the Bible forbade usurey. Most of the wars use to be financed by the Kings through borrowing from Jews: later that evolved and grew into banks and institutions...the Rothschilds, Warburgs, etc etc all started this way and it was a very viable way to make a living in a society that often stratified and restricted Jews from selling other things to the public at large. I sense that this thread just took a U-turn and is about to head another direction:-) ______________________________________________________________ How about we discuss the Weimar republic, one of the truest and more balanced democratic constitutions in the world, and how that devolved into a handful of Jews who chose not to be rounded up and gassed and they found a few armaments which resulted in them holding off the Wehrmacht in the Warsaw Ghetto? That could never happen here, we're better than that....right? Sure. It's like creeping incrementalism or death by a thousand cuts....little bit here, little bit there, pretty soon they got ya trapped in the sewer running for your life. All fish-weirs shall be removed from the Thames, the Medway, and throughout the whole of England, except on the sea coast. In cases where a Welshman was deprived or dispossessed of anything, without the lawful judgement of his equals, by our father King Henry or our brother King Richard, and it remains in our hands or is held by others under our warranty, we shall have respite for the period commonly allowed to Crusaders, unless a lawsuit had been begun, or an enquiry had been made at our order, before we took the Cross as a Crusader. But on our return from the Crusade, or if we abandon it, we will at once do full justice according to the laws of Wales and the said regions
  15. I like the antisemitism:
  16. meanwhile the republican government is paying business financier to GM & Chrysler, bailing out banks and acquiring assets.
  17. Oh, I hate the commie pissant. I just don't advocate murder. Scott, if you think Obama is a communist, you clearly haven't studied the tenents of communism very much you expect anything more than desperation at this point?
  18. I've had similar tude at the North Bend store. Almost aggressive at times. Alas, such is the fate of ski stores in the current era. And so the solution is to mount my Dynafits myself.
  19. Well, as long as no one asks me to screw a pig then..... Seriously Bob, in my opinion, it weakens a very strong and honest post to end it that way. It will lead to insults back in return, and your points, as spot on the money as they are, will not be read or addressed. Take care all! he's arguing with Fairweather, none of the honest points would be addressed anyways
  20. So if your car had no headlights and was spewing oil, the cops wouldnt need to pull you over and possibly ticket you...because your license already took care of that??? Wow, I had no idea. You might not also be aware that you need to renew tabs on your car (the licensing I was refering to), which requires emmissions inspection here and other types of inspection elsewhere. That's gonna cost ya big someday. Funny, I dont remember anyone checking my headlights during an emissions test... That would be the definition of Simpleton, yes.
  21. you need more than one to shot yourself? definitely a conservative
  22. They were concerned pastors will no longer be sleeping with the boys?
  23. damn Fairweather - why you got to make fun of gun-nuts for being paranoid ignorant idiots?
  24. hasn't dawned on you that he's a senile impetuous old fool?
