From the looks of the guy on the right it looks like there may have been some mushroom picking going on earlier in the evening. Maybe getting some trails and auditory from the piss stream.
  2. I'm curious what is a "renegade" historian. The amount of debt incurred by the US during his presidency was equivlant to the preceding 204 yrs. Supposedly our policy was to out spend the Soviets and push them into economic collapse. Were reagans policies the catalyst for their collapse or was it their chronically corrupt and inefficent economic system. That new debt trend line that was started and has continued until this day is one of the major reasons for the current frailty of the US dollar.

I went and got Britney out of bed and she said that the picture of Kerry was taken on the Galopagos Islands before he evolved into a seal.
  5. CSN and Y, I'm going to have to break out the vinyl now! The next Kent state will involve Blackwater, tazers and 5 college students while a 150 students stand around getting digital video on their cellphones.

  8. Long article on the big game. Big ommision on conservation and with a corporate slant but good pragmatic overview. Powershift: oil, money and war If you can find a copy of "Strategic Geography and the Changing Middle East" by Kemp and Harkavy, go for it. Although it was written in 1997, it helps explain current events almost to the letter.
  9. Paper of course, the Unknow Comic look. Chuck Barris would be proud.
  10. If you put a bag over her head, I think I would be willing to become a republican, at least for a couple of hours anyway.
  11. That opossum is desperately trying to get some of that TaunTaun milk
  12. Probably on purpose, but that kind of strategy actually shows he has skills to play in the big leagues.
  13. These non-binding resolutions are a waste of time anyway. They can condemn Move On, Rush Limbaugh, Burma, Sudan and declare french fries be called freedom fries. Its all CYA moves on both sides. Its like declaring that you dont like the brand of tires on the car thats running you over. I'd have to agree that was a lame fucking excuse by Obama(shows poor organiztional skills if he cant get to what he believes is an important vote.) But your fooling yourself to think that inept behavior is isolated to the Democratic side of things.
  14. Yea, you could use the nonmiltary side of the service for updating US infrastructure, home care of the elderly, expanded Peace Corp, etc. and with the lottery rebuild troop depth which would go a long way towards increasing morale for the current group of active duty soldiers. I think, at the very least, on the nonmilitary side of this servive the age range should be extend to retirement age. Albeqerque, huh( I KNOW I spelled that one wrong). That whole four corners region is like another planet, esp. S Utah and N Arizona. Doing a big slot canyon trip has been on the list for a while now. This time of year is the best time of year down there.
  15. I want to see what that kitten is hiding in its ears before I commit to anything
  16. Sounds good, as you can see from my picture though, I am counting on those two exceptions to the mandatory service rule.
  17. I heard that drinking Jack Daniels straight out of the bottle is the gateway to doing speedball. If thats the case, I'm all for it.
  18. Quote(taken form longer post) from Serenity, "BECAUSE HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO SUPPORT REINSTATING THE DRAFT (including yourself if you are 42 and under), WHICH MANDATES SERVICE FOR ALL CITIZENS UNDER A FAIR SYSTEM, THEN YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO OFFER INCENTIVES FOR PEOPLE TO RISK GETTING KILLED IN 140 DEGREE HEAT, 13,000 MILES FROM HOME. " You nailed it. Restart the draft. We need the depth of forces, and it will get everybody, both left and right, to look at what is staring us right in the face. Did you here Turkey is massed on the Kurdistan border and is on the verge of going in? One of strategic allies(whom we DEPEND on for logistical support) is ready to invade the most stable region Iraq.
  19. Self quote on this one "This political shit gets grinding after awhile, but this anonymous trashing could get added to the list of hobbies." It took me a few days of posting on the first forum I've contributed to for me to devolve that. Its amazing how the anonymous nature of the internet can alter behavior. The written word takes on a life of its own. I wonder if, in my case at least, it gives me a feeling of power when the events around the planet seem to be spinning out of control. I am not going to change your thinking. Its too much negative energy being expended on a futile arguments that will always leads to more of the same. How do you do it without becoming angry? Or do you enjoy the rush of the anger? I'm interested in your response.
  20. Thats why I made the distinction about the neocons having their PRIMARY goal. I actually think many republicans are driven by right to life issues, gun issues, fiscal issues, immigration issues and security issues. The neocons manipulate them with fearmongering about those issues and they end up blindly following all the rest of the neocon agenda. The evangelical wing and gun-rights wing has been completely brain washed into believing all democrats are anti-gun heathens. If Rove had only been a Democrat.... Combing both Democrats and Republicans and Independents what percentage would you guess is pro-choice, pro-bill of rights(including gun rights), want an effective military, tighter immigration policy, and stronger fiscal management? My guess is thats its well over 50% of the country regardless of party affiliation. Its much easier to control the masses when their divided. My theory about posting it as "private" was right I just figured once I got the resident fascists to read it they would respond first. I just want people to step outside the box weve all been painted into.
  21. Hey Serenity, I thanked Joesph H for his service and I want to thank you for yours. Hopefully I didnt come across as too much of a smartass with my debates with you. Its a good to have a methodical breakdown of serious topics with someone of an opposing view. I have never been in a combat situatuion, but have limited personal expierence with that need to be in survival mode 24/7 I lived in a major city for ten years in what would be descrided as not the best area of town. Had a drive by shooting directed at me 2 days after catching some gangbangers graffiting my car. Had a 9mm stuck in my face by some crackhead right in front of my apartment. Had some gangbanger walking around on a Saturday afternoon with on ?Uzi/MAC10? about 15ft away from me in the parking lot were I lived. Pretty quickly you go into this hypervigilant survival mode and after awhile it takes its toll. From my limited perspective,I can understand in a combat zone when troops (by neccesity) are in that survival mode, how a chain of events can occur that lead to an outcome nobody wanted. Its called survival. And the blame is usually focused on the ground level forces that had nothing to do with the policy getting them there in the first place. I know this doesnt have to do with the private security debate, but I dont want you guys going through the same shit the the Vietnam Veterans went through when they came home.
  22. Points found in common across fascist regimes 1.) Powerful and Continuing Nationalism -term "Homeland Security" was completely random 2.) Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights (I peronally could give a shit for the human rights of radical muslim fundamentalists) 3.) Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause you commie lib homo godless anti-semetic traitor 4.) Supremacy of the Military ( when contained within the DOD, right now its problaby needed) 5.) Rampant Sexism (depends on what I get out of the deal) 6.) Controlled Mass Media (1996 TeleCommunications Act- signed by Clinton by the way) 7.) Obsession with National Security (During this wonderful point in history whos to say....) 8.) Religion and Government are Intertwined (ironically this is destroying the RNC from the inside out) 9.) Corporate Power is Protected: (this my freinds is THE PRIMARY concern of neocons, and why most republicans ARE NOT neocons) 10.) Labor Power is Suppressed: (see above) 11.) Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts -you commie lib homo godless anti-semetic traitor 12.) Obsession with Crime and Punishment (not that anyone would use the PATRIOT Act for domestic purposes) 13.) Rampant Cronyism and Corruption (Dems/Repubs no difference- how about campaign finance reform) 14. Fraudulent Elections: -thats just absolutlety positvely not possible you commie lib homo godless anti-semetic traitor that cant spell References Andrews, Kevin. Greece in the Dark. 23. You should have remained a lurker; cc.com is already sufficiently replete with simple-minded assclowns such as yourself. When standing on a mesa in the twilight in the Southwest seeing the silhouette of a heerd of wild horses youve seen a thousand times before . Does your brain tell you they are horses or zebras?
  24. I just noticed their heads were chained together. Thats is some tasty milfage, mmmmmmm.
  25. Joesph H, its a classic tactic for these guys to start making base attacks on loyalty, accusations of racism, etc.. Once they realise there logic isn't really logical at all, there is no where else to go but the pillar of fear. Soon you will be accused of colaborating with the alein invaders from Pluto. FYI thanks for your service in Vietnam, I wish the public would have focused at the time on the policy makers and not the troops. Again thanks. I need to find that list of I think 14 points that were found in common among facsist regimes. When reading the list the Orwellian nightmare becomes very clear.
