  1. 10+ years intense. usually at altitude.(andes. tibet.)maybe 30 mountains. forced to cave at 6000, and 7200m .spent months on snow, want to climb E. this year.why? anyrhing specific?
  2. moderate this you right wingin' fuckface!
  3. with a tiny snopeak stove and one cannister ,(few ounces) and a little food (bars...) you could last easily a week as long you dont get too wet and its above -30 outside. when you melt snow, you warm your cave and body and dry a little .keep the bottle in your pants.dont waste . a bivy, big shell, would help to save heat. I MEAN YOU WILL SURVIVE, NOT VACATION.....
  4. i've used cans/snopeak for years, for as long as 1 week at altitude at a time.perfect. in us/andes/tibet but like anything else a system needs organization.i keep a can in my bag if its super cold.etc... all fits in 1l pot. stove/can/light/spoon. its all about time management also.i usually climb alpine style.light and direct. i bring a second one if exposed. works for me. you have to experiment.
  5. climbing is like spirituality ,archery etc, book knowledge helps but experience and practice are mandatory. when you read a climbing book AFTER a climb , you learn so much.
  6. i bring a couple tiny snopeak stoves with canisters. 2days -2people on snow. per can. up to 23000ft extra is dictated by route/exposure/solo/partners etc
  7. shishapangma sw face , tibet. 5 of us with a cook an aid, no guide, only team on that side. with 6000ft of couloir waiting. no route/camp beta, no fixed ropes. 100mph winds. walking over and over past alex lowe's demise point.. and the powerful and deep himal just crushing manhood into your soul...... aaaaaahhhh.
  8. ah yes..... the most important. in climbing we all use intuition. cant be taught, got to have it. the first time i climbed huascaran ,i went alone, i forgot my fuel. met some nice folks, summitted. trust yourself.
  9. allow me to retort; as a first class newby, i would like to applaud your banning of underpriviledged children constantly sneeking in this adult site. i can only think of maybe 3 greater humanitarians; mo theresa, gandhi and dr phil. keep up, the vigil. god bless allah.
  10. i heard a rumour that a fourth guy was supposed to join them? he probably could have done a lot .specially if he was probably experienced. he may also have brought more gear, maybe a mh bison.i sure hope so..
  11. it took 2 weeks of crap, but hell, they got to him! he'll recover.
  12. i've used both the bibler bivy(heavy, comfy at 6000m) and eldorado tent. to great success. but in most cases i brought the tent. you need to decide the main usage first.(winter.solo.alt.steep.multiday etc.) the best setup is 1lbs bivy (backup) and a 3lbs tent (staying) used as needed. the safest. i just bought an mtn ev2 (4lbsw/vest) and its bigger/tougher/cooler.

  16. shhhhh.....that's not really the best example to bring up right now ok?
  17. no god = no devil. that's a law of nature. what? no white bearded old softee and no redhot moustache freak in thights??? santa, virgin mary and now this..? what's a cynic to believe?
