I thought it was a "Y" for "yes, we are here."

+1 for a baby tax. How can we get this rolling? Make sure it's really, really high. Like, prohibitively high.

More fun and games from corporate agriculture !!

You new to fly fishing? me too! Looking for company? I try to hit the south fork at least once a week, or I figure I'll never get good at it.

One of these is not like the other.

How do you guys even know Romney exists? You've never seen him! I bet it's all just a Mossad operation, anyway.
-
Lol, Israel hates us because Obama is gonna tell everyone the 9/11 secret (that it was a mossad operation)? THAT'S what you found "eye opening"? Even bill was making fun of it -- Man you're easy

Lol! Freedom of speech to draw offensive cartoons but not to assemble and protest them Lol France

How so? You mean, you're afraid they'll increase?

47% on income, or on wages? That's important. Also, flat taxes have a tendency to become regressive. If it takes X dollars to survive, you tend to pay proportionately a higher burden as your tax footprint approaches X. A 15% tax on $1 sure hurts a lot more than a 15% tax on 1 million when compared with the potential to survive on the remainder. However, I'd be way more supportive of flat taxes (or lower taxes in general) if the plan taxed income rather than wages. Most republicans advocate repealing taxes on capital gains altogether, which is absolutely an awful idea. Income is income, and I should pay the same taxes on my investment income as I do on gambling proceeds in Vegas. While we're on the subject, the concept of short-terms capital gains tax only hurts the poor, IMO. It effectively prevents short-term investment for the poor and lower middle class entirely by enforcing a much higher level of taxation than they would otherwise pay. If you don't have a lot of money you can't afford to have it tied up for more than 12 months, and a 35% penalty for short investments is just class warfare.

Meh, I like where your head is at but this isn't such a great idea. The president isn't really supposed to be a representative as much as members of congress, and anyway sometimes 100% commitment to popular opinion isn't a good thing -- that's why most countries use representative democracy rather than pure, 100% individual democracy. Popular opinion can be a scary thing sometimes.

No shit. I'll bet some of them even cling to guns and religion! Of course. Everyone knows religion and guns go together like pb & j.

What cracks me up is that plenty of that "47%" include members of his own base. I'm with you, Jim: he's either an idiot, or a retard.

So you defend kevbone's crazy ideas, chastise us for questioning them, but don't want to be painted with the same crazy brush? Make up your mind, dude. Allowable spray topics? On the contrary, I don't think anybody wants kevbone to shut up. I don't, I think it's hilarious.

I suppose it is pretty ridiculous to riot period; unless you do it in someone else's country. Why fuck up your own shit. I have never understood that. or shoot people in a church. or blow up federal buildings, because you hate the government. or go into a movie theater and blast people away for no reason whatsoever. I don't think we have a perfect record either. We sure don't have a perfect record, but we're sure better than Libya

Consider this a personal challenge to find any post of mine where I state that aliens did it. I seem to recall that Ivan mentioned it....but not me. It was a reference to the sentence before that one in my original quote, in which I said, "The kennedy assasination doesn't make sense, so maybe aliens did it" or something similar. I know you didn't say that. But the things you are saying are comparable, which was the point I was trying to make by referring to your statements as my previous example re: kennedy and "aliens did it." Pop quiz: What I did there, is that an analogy or an allegory? :kisss:

well, the funny thing is we're actually the ones doing the questioning -- questioning of kevbone's crazy tin-foil hat ideas. Can you please send me evidence that OBL was actually killed in 2001 before 9/11? Do you believe that, too? Do you believe no airplane hit the pentagon? lol. Hey, you know what? Maybe kermit the frog and elmo conspired to assassinate kennedy. Fonzo was the second gunman on the grassy knoll. THe official explanation is flawed, therefore if you don't accept my alternative crackpot ideas as a possibility, you're just close-minded. I like you, you're funny. Like an angrier kevbone.

Yep, I saw that video earlier this month. I've probably seen everything you and kevbone have, my father is a huge "truther" Um, it does matter. We're not discussing if there is anything fishy about the official story. After all, there is something fishy about the official Kennedy assassination story, too, but that doesn't mean aliens did it. When someone (like kev) makes crazy assertions like "aliens did it" or that "OBL was already dead and no plane even hit the pentagon," I'm sorry, but you DO have to prove that. It's called burden of evidence. And I'm sorry, but all fishyness aside, a fucking plane hit the pentagon. And I have seen no credible evidence that OBL was actually kiled in 2001 before the attack, or that explosives were used. Questioning things is AWESOME. Making bold claims and then saying that it's not your job to prove them is fucking retarded. It's weird that you would be so quick to defend the latter, since it's people like Kevbone and their crazy, irrational theories that will probably keep any serious investigation away from this topic for a very long time. Coming on here (apparently without reading the thread) and then defending Kevbone's alien and tin-foil hat ideas and then chiding us for asking him to "prove it" makes you look, pretty much, like a giant, sucking anus. Word to the wise!

Kirk, did you watch my video? It's also PBS and refutes the other PBS documentary. Food for thought. So since you're so fast to defend kevbone, let's get you on record: do you believe that OBL was actually killed in 2001, before the attack, that he didn't do it, that explosives were used in the attacks, and that no plane hit the pentagon?

Another PBS documentary (this one was done by Nova): You should watch it
